Making Disciples - Transforming the World

Outreach

In 2018, Middlesex UMC adapted a new vision to be

Alive in Christ in our Community so our Community is Alive in Christ.

Outreach

Below are brief descriptions of events that we have throughout the year and ways you can plug-in:

Backpack Program, we have a group from MUMC that travels to New Hope Ministries in Mechanicsburg to pack food bags for children at Middlesex Elementary school. This is done on a weekly basis during daytime hours on a rotating basis during the school year. We always have room for more to join this amazing team!

Outreach Egg Hunts is where we take our egg hunt on the road to the three local area Mobile Home Park communities. MUMC provides candy filled eggs for children to collect, along with games and prizes during the event. Wonderful time by all involved! This is held two weeks prior to Easter.

Fall Festival at Middlesex Township Park, we have a tent that offers face painting, games and prizes during the event. Great way to plug-in and meet people within our community! This is held the third Saturday in September.

Fall and Spring Festivals at Middlesex Elementary School, we participate in helping with games/prizes, handing out food, and face painting. Fun to connect with families during these events! These are held in October and May.

Happy Feet from Head to Toe, is open to students in the three local elementary schools. Each year, guidance counselors from the schools provide MUMC with a listing of names looking to participate, and we meet them at Kohls to shop for an outfit and a pair of shoes. Meaningful time by all as the smiles on the faces of the children make this event so worthwhile! This is held on a Friday and Saturday Columbus Day weekend.

Trunk or Treat, is held on our campus and open to our local community. Trunks are decorated and candy is handed out to all in costume. Great way to show your creativity and have fun at the same time! This is held the Saturday before Halloween.

Hayride to Bethlehem, is a 45-minute hayride that captures the true meaning of Christmas. Many opportunities to volunteer that include acting, scene set-up, greeting, registration, assist in the kitchen, and so much more! This is held on a Friday and Saturday in December.
